Parent Villages partners with organizations to provide a two-generational approach to serving families. This enables us to provide support to both children and adults to close the opportunity and belief gaps which have negatively impacted the educational attainment and livelihoods of our families.

The importance of Two-Generational Services
Our mission is to build bridges between parents, youth, advocates, community leaders, and educators to close the opportunity gap and improve the quality of life for ALL children. We prioritize the growing needs of black and Hispanic families in Greater Springfield affected by violence. Village Builders spearheads our two-generational programming, serving the whole family, inclusive of children and their caregivers/parents through interactive workshops and an array of family engagement activities.

Parent Villages I Meet-Up
In-person and online community meetings where guest speakers provide important information to educate participants on relevant topics affecting communities of color.
Village Care Sessions
An intimate, safe, and supportive space where adults can talk openly about different “struggles”, mental and emotional wellness, self-care and more.
Adult Village Builders
Small interactive workshops for adults, designed to coach and empower them to be Ready, Willing, and Able to make the necessary changes to improve different areas of their lives.
Youth Village Builders
Interactive workshops for youth in grades 6 to 12; designed to empower and teach positive social and leadership skills.

At Parent Villages, we’re huge believers in the power of education. That’s why each year, we love to celebrate graduating high school seniors who are academically focused but also actively involved in making their community a better place. We also love to recognize amazing adults who have had a positive impact on youths’ lives, in the community, and academically.
